Barrel Blanket Insulation
LJ Barrel Blankets are removable, reusable and flexible custom fit
insulating wraps. They are typically used on the barrels of injection
molding, blow molding, and extrusion machines. They can also be used to
wrap extrusion die heads, melt pipes, mixing tubes, transfer blocks,
screen changers, and blow rings for bag blowers, and countless other
applications. LJ Blankets have even been successful on insulating
thermoset molds. |
Why Insulate?
By insulating, you can capture and retain the heat that you have
already paid for. This, among many other benefits, gives the user an
energy savings of an average of 33% |
Other Benefits:
- Major reduction of electrical consumption
- Shorter start-up time
- Personnel protection and comfort
- Extended heater band, relay, heat controller life
- Improved control of heat profile, hot spots
- Reduced air-conditioning costs
|
- Short return on investment, usually less than 6 months
- Resistant to oil, water and chemicals
- Possible rebates from electric companies
- Maintains temperature settings in drafts, near doors
- Reduced rejected product
- Reduced operating costs

Our unique Reverse Sewn & Double Top Stitched fabrication gives the
user greater protection from seam failure. All of our seams are hidden
on the inside except the closing seam which is double top stitched.

| Easy Installation
LJ Barrel Blankets use a stainless steel Velcro hook and loop
closure system with a stainless steel buckle. Barrel Blankets go
on quickly, no special tools or skills are required. One person can
install them in minutes.
Labor Savings
Barrel Blankets utilize multiple zones or sections rather than one
bulky, heavy piece. Barrel Blankets are fabricated for maximum ease of
installation. Each blanket of the set has a strap I.D. tag to identify
the machine and zone location.

Savings
Barrel insulation provides significant dollar savings by reducing
electrical consumption from 25 - 60% of the heater load. This gives the
Barrel Blanket user an energy savings of 10% of the cost of operating a
molding machine. Our average customer pay-back is less than six months.
Insulation pays for itself rapidly by preventing high BTU loss into
the plant ambient air and improves efficiency of the molding process.
Radiant heat loss reduces the effectiveness of the heated system.
Barrel Blankets provide significant savings to the plastics industry
by reducing electrical consumption. By reducing the operating costs,
this will help you to become more competitive in your industry. |
